Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is an automatic identification technology, relying on storing and remotely retrieving data using devices called RFID tags or transponders.

The RFID tags contain with integrated circuit for storing and processing information, modulating and demodulating a (RF) signal, and other specialized function; Antenna is incorporated for receiving and transmitting the signal. Both Active as well as Passive RFID tags can be embedded into product for the purpose of identification using radio waves.
