MillionTECH participated in the project of Hong Kong’s first ever mobile phone ticketing service and this project has been launched at UA Times Square cinema now. Mobile subscribers would collect tickets at cinema kiosk without wasting time to queue.
Mechanism
Mobile subscribers make purchase request online, subscribers will receive a MobileTix MMS containing 2D barcode (QR Code) plus details of the show. They simply pass the MobileTix MMS QR code over a scanner at cinema kiosk, which is built-in barcode scanner Denso QK-11, produced by MajorLink. MajorLink is a premier developer of award-winning smart card, interactive kiosk and digital signage system with specialization in transaction automation and remote monitoring in Hong Kong. Mobile subscribers would get tickets and can enter the show immediately without waste time to queue for tickets. Additionally, mobile subscribers would forward the MobileTix MMS to their friends and get into the cinema separately without having to wait for each other outside. QR Code It is well accepted in Japan and trends to apply in different industries. Its application includes in sales management of contacts lens, spectacles, etc. The reasons of popularity are high data capacity of QR code, it is up to 7,089 characters. Small space of QR code would carry much data, a 10% sized QR code can carry the same amount of data as a bar code can. Additionally, QR code is multi direction high-speed reading, 30 symbols per second can be read. It would carry Chinese fonts, and would damage proof, even 30% damaged code can be read.
