MillionTECH TMS System won Hong Kong ICT Awards 2007

MilionTECH provided the In-Flat Inspection System (IFIS) to Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) - Total Maintenance Scheme Unit (TMS) for inspecting Public Housing Estates since 2006, the system won Hong Kong ICT Awards 2007: Best Public Service Application (Innovative) Silver Award & Best Public Service Application (Most Favored) Bronze Award.

As a leading provider of enterprise-class mobile solution, the company offered over 150 pieces of PDA Style Industrial Data Terminals CASIO IT600 and Extech 3" Portable Printers S3750THS Series to HA for implementation.

To provide proactive and comprehensive maintenance estate service, HA arranged regular inspection to the public housing estates.  During inspection, front-end inspectors would bring the PDA Terminal CASIO IT600 and battery powered 3" Thermal Portable Printer S3750THS for data-capture and receipt-printing.  Collected data and analyzed results would send to the back-end server through General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) technology.  System would help to organize data in terms of text (written report), image / picture (photos taken in the public housing estates) or voice-memo (feedback / comment from the public tenants) into an analyzable, traceable or searchable one for recording and future tracking.  Most importantly, this easy-to-use site inspection tool offers HA absolute and immediate control over the inspection process, tracking and history.

It has been a year since the implementation of IFIS and HA benefited by the increase of operational efficiency, effective housing management, smooth workflow, high mobility of the inspectors and high flexibility of the application enabling the implementation of “Mobile Business” concept.

The recognition form Hong Kong ICT Awards 2007 has demonstrated the effectiveness of TMS in enhancing HA operational efficiency. Comments from Judging Panel is “With the implementation of TMS system, various stakeholders (comprising public rental housing tenants, maintenance contractors, HA operation staff and management) effectively and efficiently collaborate through multiple communication channels on an integrated industry platform.  Moreover, the system provides a total ICT solution for the very traditional industry of housing maintenance, with the target to increase communication, streamline operation flow, enhance transparency, and provide proactive services.”
