| Provision of RFID System to Sagawa's Warehouse |
|
Under Sagawa’s GOH System, A motor-driven conveyor system with an automatic mechanism can move a garment to any desired location in the warehouse. Special designed metal hanger bars with rollers used for uploading garments from the trucks and containers within the warehouse are mounted with RFID tag for stock location tracking.
UHF RFID Tag, Reader and Handy Terminal
Yet, metal are radio frequency unfriendly and can impact on RFID tag’s effectiveness. A special designed Rafsec Gen 2 Tag is then created. Tag is wrapped with acrylic material and magnetic poles on one side allow it stuck well on the metal hanger bar. Barcode label on top is for back up and easy manual identification. Chips inside are complied with EPC Class 1 standard and are read and write capable.

Automatic Identification Check Out Process To prevent any wrong hanger bars from shipping out of the warehouse, when there is any hanger bar pass though the corresponding RFID reader, the stand alone program on the PC would show the tag read and to match with the outstanding sales order. If any invalid pallet goes to the loading bay, an error notification will be shown on the monitor system and sounded the buzzer on loading bay to alert the operator. Information updated to the GOHWMS database automatically.
The implementation of RFID technology into the GOHWMS helped improved the efficiency of the warehouse process and to ensure the location accuracy of the garment products. It gains real-time visibility of stock at the warehouse and enables Sagawa to attain a higher return-on-investment (ROI) in terms of the operation cost of manual stocktaking and data capturing.
